We will book hotel and/or villa reservations for you from within our network of hotels and villas across Croatia.

We set-up private transfers for you and take care of ferry bookings, as well as any driving routes for road-trip itineraries.

What is the planning process like?

1. Discovery call

We’ll jump on a complimentary 30-minute discovery call to get a better understanding of the goals of your trip and overall needs.

2. Follow-up proposal

We’ll follow with an example itinerary and quote in accordance with your wishes and budget. Then you can decide if you’d like to move forward together.

3. Trip confirmation

To confirm your trip, we will send over an agreement to sign and then will require a 1,000 Euro deposit down towards your trip in order to move forward.

4. Trip development

We’ll then begin to solidify your trip in depth in accordance with your wishes. This includes route mapping, itinerary structure, accommodation selection, experiences, activities, transfers, and all other logistics.

5. Final trip price

Once we’ve established the above, we will provide you with your final trip price in Euro. Once you approve you’ll then pay in accordance with our payment plan and schedule (see below FAQS).

6. Finishing touches

Along the way, we’ll make sure to add in VIP finishing touches such as restaurant reservations and highly-personalized local recommendations.

8. On-the-ground support

Before your arrival in Croatia, we’ll create a Whatsapp group to ensure your arrival and every detail of your trip goes smoothly. Consider us your friends in Croatia with you every step of the way.

Alex is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has Croatian roots through her grandfather. She studied political science and journalism at Loyola University Chicago, and met Domeniko during a semester abroad in Dubrovnik. She runs her award-winning travel blog, and Instagram account about her life in Croatia. She loves to hangout by the sea with her friends and dogs, and travel around Croatia.

Domeniko Hajdić

Domeniko is born and raised in Dubrovnik, Croatia. He has worked in tourism his entire life, and studied diplomacy and international business at Dubrovnik International University, where he met Alex. In addition to running Mindful Travel Croatia, he helps run his family’s rental apartments and hosts a peka dinner Airbnb experience. He loves to cook, swim in the Adriatic sea, and sing Klapa music with friends all night long!

How far in advance do I need to book a custom trip?

You should reach out to us at least 3 months before your trip days. However, we recommend reaching out 6-12 months in advance if possible, especially if you are planning a special occasion, traveling with a larger group, or interested in staying in a villa. The further in advance you reach out, the more likely we are to take advance of early-bird discounts with hotels as well.

If in the case you reach out less than 3 months before your trip dates, it is still possible for us to plan a custom trip for you, subject to our availability. Also, please note that planning at the last-minute limits our options of accommodation suppliers, especially during peak summer season.

Do you also book flights?

While we don’t book flights for you, we can help with flight mapping in order for this to correspond with your itinerary. For business and first-class travelers, we can refer you to our partners for flight bookings.

What is not included in custom packaged pricing?

Meals (outside of daily breakfasts in hotels or other booked activities), flights, independent activities, tipping, and souvenirs are what is not included in your quote.

I’ve never worked with a travel planner before. What can I expect?

Many of our clients have never worked with a professional travel planner before. Think of it like working with a wedding planner but for your trip. You can expect that we will take into consideration all of your needs and guide you with our professional expertise. Rest assured you can rely on our guidance, and let us do the work for you. You will be able to provide your preferences along the way as well.

Do children get a discounted rate?

In accordance with our budget guidlines set above, you can expect that the budget can be reduced if one or more members of your party are under 12 years old. For example: a couple traveling with an infant and staying in a hotel, or a family with 3 children staying in a villa. We will do our best to accomodate and evaluate on a case by case basis.

What can I expect on a discovery call?

Once you set-up a time via Calendly, we will have a 30-minute discovery video call where we discuss your questionaire and get a feel for your travel style, needs, desired pace, and overall goal of this trip. This is a friendly, informal call where we see if this is a good fit for both parties and we see how we can best assist you. After the call we follow up with a proposed itinerary and quote for your trip.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, you can pay by credit card, debit card, or bank transfer.

What is your payment policy?

First you will pay a 1,000 Euro deposit to confirm your reservation. After completing stage 1 of the planning process and approval of our proposed trip and itinerary, the following payment schedule will be in place.

– 25% remaining of trip total: Due upon completion of stage 1 and finalization of itinerary (non-refundable)
– 75% remaining of trip total: Due 60 days before trip start date (non-refundable)

Prices are listed in Euro as this is Croatia’s currency, but final pricing will be sent in USD via invoice in accordance with updated currency conversion.
